Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. The youngest of five siblings. She has two sisters and brothers younger than her. Miley's parents named her in hopes that she would be successful. Miley became her childhood name Smiley because of its cheerfulness. Her maternal grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus started her schooling in Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. Cyrus and her parents, moved to Toronto Canada at the age of 8 at the age of 8. Her father Billy Ray played a character in the TV show Doc. It was around this time when Cyrus realized she was interested in learning to act as well. The first time she acted was alongside her dad on the set of Doc (2001). In 2003, she had one small part in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus was the lead character on Hannah Montana (2006). The story tells the story of an adolescent that lives a life that is like a popstar. Her father also joined her on screen. This was an instant hit and tours sold out as well as hit record and merchandise deals were also in the pipeline. Cyrus became a teen superstar. Following the popularity in Hannah Montana 2006, Cyrus moved into other characters. She was Ronnie Miller and Lola alongside Demi Moore in The Last Song 2010 and LOL 2012.
